St. John Technical and Educational Campus (SJTEC) National Service Scheme (NSS) Units and Kutch Yuvak Sangh, in association with International Lions Club of Mumbai, organized Free Blood Donation Drive on 11th March 2016 between 10am and to 5 p.m. at our Campus in Palghar.
356 people (Students & Staff) donated blood after going through a series of primary medical check-ups before donating. The main objective of this Free blood donation camp is to collect blood, store it in approved blood banks and get it back whenever needed.
Donors were given a certificate of appreciation for their service to humanity. A DONOR's card was also provided to the Donors to facilitate them to get blood units (of any blood group) whenever needed, in future, for them, their immediate family members, friends and relatives from the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation Blood Bank or Chheda Blood Bank, Dahanu
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of Governing Council members of SJCET, Mr. Thomas Lobo, Director of St. John Technical and Educational campus and Dean of SJIMR, and the Principals of our three (3) Institutions (i.e. SJCET, SJIPR & SJCHS), Mr. Sachin Urade (NSS Co-ordinator), Mr. Anil D'sa (Administrator) and Mr. Milind Kamble (NSS Programme Officer).
A welcome speech was given by NSS volunteer, Mr. Saish Sankhe (Comp. Eng. IInd Year Student). Thereafter, Mr. Nilesh Shah, Representative of International Lion's Club & Mr. Bhaven Haria, Head, Kutch Yuvak Sangh, Palghar were welcomed with a bouquet as a token of our gratitude.
SJTEC believes that organizing Free blood donation and storage on a regular basis is very important as it helps in emergencies. It also helps the students to check their basic health parameters. SJTEC believes that all sections of society should contribute towards requirements of the society by donating blood and save lives.
The event was concluded with a word of gratitude by NSS volunteer, Mr. Crystal Nadar (Civil Eng. IInd Year Student). Kind words of appreciation and gratitude were also conveyed by Mr. Bhaven Haria.
The Campus NSS units thanked the Management, Principals, Admin. Managers and the Student's NSS volunteers of SJCET, SJIMR & SJIPR for their support to make the event a grand success.
